There will be several opportunities to catch up with 45596 Bahamas this year.
Bahamas will be part of the home fleet during Keighley & Worth Valley Railway’s Steam Gala which runs from March 9 to 12. Mainline tours begin in April, and we’ll have further announcements later in the year.
School visits
Our school engagement programme continues to grow and has done well since Covid restrictions were lifted. Over 600 children visited the Engine Shed museum during the past academic year. The young people have also engaged with our partners at Carriage Works and ridden behind steam and diesel trains operated by KWVR. Outreach visits are also increasing, and 380 children have participated in activities during 2022 and early 2023.
Learning Coach numbersOur classroom and community space on the platform at Ingrow West Station is heading towards a milestone – our 10,000th visitor, excluding school groups, is on the horizon. Last year, the Coach was used twice as a polling station. Other uses include music concerts, talks, craft and science activities, pirate and Halloween storytelling and being used as a base to promote the Bradford 2025 Year of Culture bid.
